THE GOVERNED PILOT FIELD GUIDE
Thirty days.
A better AI
decision.
Not another demo. A bounded experiment that tells you what works, what breaks and whether the next investment is justified.

ONE WORKFLOW. FOUR CHECKPOINTS.
Define the boundary
Name the workflow, owner and failure conditions.
Test the work
Compare against an agreed baseline, not a memorable demo.
Challenge the result
Inspect rework, exceptions and control failures.
Make the call
Stop, adapt or expand with evidence and an accountable owner.
START SMALL, LEARN SOMETHING REAL
A pilot is a question,
not a purchase justification.
Choose one task where the current process is understood and mistakes can be detected before they affect people. Internal document categorization may be a manageable starting point. Unreviewed employment, credit or clinical decisions are not a shortcut to useful experimentation.
The useful question is specific: can this workflow produce acceptable work with less total effort under defined controls? “Can AI improve productivity?” is too broad to evaluate. A narrower question creates a fair test and a defensible stopping point.
Measure the whole task
Include review, correction and exception handling. Speed alone is not success.

Separate generating a suggestion from authorizing a real action.

A good pilot can tell you to stop. Record the reason and what would change it.
